“Six Triple Eight” Tyler Perry New Netflix Movie
Tyler Perry is set to write and direct a new movie called “Six Triple Eight“. It’s the story about the 6888th, an all-black and all-woman battalion during World War II. The 6888th was the only all-black and all-female battalion in World War II. The women had the imperative task of delivering mail to the U.S. soldiers in Europe.
The great thing about these 855 women is that they joined the war without knowing what task they’ll be assigned. They were given the task of sorting through 17 million pieces of undelivered mail that was on a three-year backlog. Once sorted, they had to deliver this mail to the soldiers and reconnect them with loved ones. In an unfamiliar land, dealing with racial tension, and war territories these women remarkably succeeded. Impressively, they did this in half the time allotted.
For almost 75 years this story was swept under the rug and ignored by mainstream America. On March 14, 2022 President Joe Biden signed a bill for the women to receive a Congressional Gold Medal, the highest honor from Congress.
The film has yet to release an official trailer or premier date. It’s expected we’ll see this sometime in 2024 or beyond, as the screenplay is not even written yet. We do expect Tyler Perry will make the storyline interesting and entertaining. This has great potential to be an amazing movie.
